Boulder is located in the northern central part of Colorado in Boulder County. Boulder is surrounded by Crisman and Salina to the northwest; Altona to the north; Longmont to the northeast; Valmont and Lafayette to the east; Broomfield to the southeast; Plainview to the south; Boulder Mountain Park and Crescent to the southwest; and Sunnyside to the west. Major roads serving Boulder include: Colorado State Route 119, Colorado State Route 157, Colorado State Route 7, Colorado State Route 93 and U.S. Highway 36.
Boulder Municipal Airport (BDU) is thirteen minutes away from downtown Boulder and is mostly used as a general aviation airport.
Denver International Airport (DEN) is the biggest public airport in the United States and it located fifty-five minutes by car from Boulder.
